Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Meet the Sandy Springs Team Behind Kindling Chimney Sandy Springs
When you book a chimney sweep in Sandy Springs, the person who shows up matters as much as the work itself. Our crew is small on purpose. Every technician who climbs a ladder or steps into your living room has been background-checked, uniformed, and trained to follow the C.A.R.E. values on every single visit: Courtesy, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence. We protect floors with drop cloths and shoe covers before anything else happens, we ask before we move a single piece of furniture, and we leave with a photo of the clean-up so you can see exactly what we saw. These aren’t hopeful gestures. They’re the standard Danny Cortes set when he opened this location, and they’re the reason Sandy Springs homeowners keep our number in their phones.
Styles & brands we work with

Our People
Danny Cortes, Owner & Lead Chimney Technician
Danny has spent his career inside flues, fireboxes, and the tight crawl spaces most people never think about until something goes wrong. He’s the one who built the Sandy Springs operation around a simple idea: if a technician wouldn’t recommend a repair to their own mother, they won’t recommend it to you. Danny holds advanced certifications in chimney inspection and repair, and he’s worked extensively with professional-grade liner systems from DuraFlex, HeatShield, and Olympia Chimney. When he’s not on a roof in Dunwoody or Brookhaven, you’ll find him restoring an old motorcycle in his garage or testing a new brisket rub he swears will finally beat his brother’s. Danny answers his own phone more often than not, and if he doesn’t, a live person from our team does, day or night.
Marcus T., Senior Fireplace Installer
Marcus has been setting hearths and installing gas log sets across metro Atlanta for over a decade. He’s our go-to for fireplace repair and rebuilds that require exact clearances, proper venting, and a finish that looks like it was always there. Marcus is certified in gas appliance installation and specializes in Famco and Copperfield components, which means he can usually match an older fireplace’s original hardware instead of telling a homeowner they need a full replacement. He’s also the quietest person on the crew, which works out well when we’re finishing a job while a baby naps in the next room. Marcus keeps a small sketchbook in his truck and draws every fireplace before he starts, a habit that’s saved more than one project from a wrong measurement.
Elena R., Service Coordinator
Elena is the voice on the other end of (229) 459-1048 when you call to book a sweep or ask what an inspection actually covers. She’s been coordinating home service appointments in Sandy Springs for seven years and knows the difference between a Level 1 and Level 2 inspection well enough to explain it without a script in front of her. Elena schedules every visit, sends the written price confirmation before any work starts, and makes sure the crew knows about pets, gated entries, or anything else that matters to your household. She once talked a first-time fireplace owner through shutting off a gas valve over the phone while the technician was en route. Outside of work, Elena runs half-marathons and is currently training for her first full one along the Chattahoochee.
Leo V., Chimney Apprentice
Leo joined the team two years ago after working in residential construction and deciding he wanted to specialize in something where the work actually gets finished in a day. As our apprentice, he handles a lot of the ground-level work: staging drop cloths, setting up the vacuum system, and carrying brush rods up ladders so the sweep itself moves fast and clean. Leo is working toward his own chimney technician certification and spends at least two mornings a week shadowing Danny on inspection calls. He’s also the one who remembers every dog’s name. If we’ve swept your chimney before, Leo probably asked if he could say hello to the golden retriever before he unloaded the truck.
One Standard, Every Job
The Sandy Springs team isn’t a franchise branch with a different rulebook. We operate as an independently owned and operated part of the Cedarwell family of companies, which has set the same baseline since 2003: background-checked technicians, written pricing before work begins, and a clean-up photo before the crew pulls away from the curb. For us, that means Danny checks every inspection report that leaves this location. It means Marcus won’t install a damper he wouldn’t want in his own firebox. It means Elena never books a job without confirming what the homeowner expects to happen. And it means Leo learns the right way the first time, from people who’ve actually done the work. The 365-Day Done Right Promise isn’t a marketing line here. If something isn’t right, we come back and make it right, no fine print, no runaround. That’s the whole point of having a local crew you can call by name.
